The Virtual Career Fair logo

A logo for a virtual jobs board for the Indianapolis Star.

The assignment to build a Virtual Career Fair for the Indianapolis Star's sales department involved much more than just a web layout. The product was simple in its content and features and wasn't the heavy weight platform that is demanded by many of the websites that a newspaper normally produces. It was used more as a feature module for the core website than an actual standalone service. Because of the lack of editorial content and its embedded nature, the VCF logo needed to be simple and easily identified in the context of a much larger corporate web header.

Since the layout of the product itself provided lots of positive white space, I was able to make the logo large and blocky, and this served to contrast with the relatively small and flat look of the rest of the interface. When place inline on the page, the logo became a natural part of the rest of the layout inside of several other distinct online properties.
