The Virtual Career Fair

An online recruitment tool for IndyStar.com advertisers.

Gannet has a huge stake in the jobs market through classifieds, careerbuilder.com and a fleet of local and regional resources. The Star in particular was always looking for ways to increase revenue on recruiting related products and services. Many advertisers were looking for ways to decrease the background noise of traditional job fairs and ad campaigns, often being totally overwhelmed with applicants. The Star needed a tool for creating a job fair that would deliver high-quality candidates in specific industries and sectors.

The product also needed to be cheap to maintain, time sensitive, discreet and able to integrate with other Star related products. We decided to build a simple job expo app that allowed job seekers and companies to build short term profiles and interact in a simple post based environment. The application was also designed to fit inside of the IndyStar.com and to run on short start and stop dates.

I provided the entire interface design, flash materials for staff training and html / css layouts.
